The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has sanctioned Senegal and Morocco following misconduct during the AFCON 2025 final in Morocco.
Senegal coach Pape Bouna Thiaw was suspended for five CAF matches and fined $100,000.00, while players Iliman Ndiaye and Ismaila Sarr received two-match bans each. The Senegalese FA was fined $615,000.00 for supporter misconduct, unsporting behavior by players and officials, and team indiscipline.
Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi was suspended for two matches, with one suspended for a year, while Ismaël Saibari received a three-match ban and a $100,000.00 fine.
The Moroccan FA was fined $315,000.00 for VAR area interference, ball boy misconduct, and the use of lasers by supporters.
