
DA Continues Voter Registration Campaign
SOMERSET EAST, EASTERN CAPE – Democratic Alliance (DA) Eastern Cape leader Andrew Whitfield visited Somerset East on Sunday. He encouraged residents to register to vote ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.
During the visit, Whitfield met local residents. He spoke about the importance of voting. He also urged every eligible citizen to register before the deadline.
According to Whitfield, every vote matters. He said local government decisions affect everyday life. Therefore, he encouraged people to take part in the election.
DA Engages Communities
Meanwhile, the visit formed part of the DA’s campaign across the Eastern Cape. Party leaders continue to visit towns and communities. They also encourage people to register and vote.
In addition, DA members listened to residents and discussed local challenges. They encouraged community members to take part in the democratic process.

At the same time, political parties across the Eastern Cape have increased their voter registration drives. They continue to visit communities ahead of the local government elections.
Furthermore, the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) has urged eligible voters to register. The commission has also encouraged voters to check and update their registration details.
