Durban Court Grants R1,000 Bail to Two March and March Members

Two March and March Members Granted R1,000 Bail
MaGolide Shinga and other March and March Movement members involved in the Durban court case.

The Durban Magistrate’s Court has granted bail of R1,000 each to MaGolide Shinga and Malizo Dzanibe. However, Wandile Nsibande remains in custody while his bail matter is pending.

The court set conditions for Shinga and Dzanibe. These include a ban on taking part in violent protests.

Bail Conditions

Shinga and Dzanibe must follow the conditions set by the court. They were each granted bail of R1,000.

Shinga told the court that he has four children. He also said he works as an occupational nurse and earns R15,000 a month.

He further told the court that Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, leader of the March and March Movement, would pay his bail.

Why Nsibande Remains in Custody

Nsibande remains behind bars after his bail hearing was postponed. Reports from the court proceedings indicate that the State raised concerns about his parole status. The verification of the accused persons’ home addresses was also an issue.

However, the available information does not confirm that the court formally refused Nsibande bail. His position remains different from that of Shinga and Dzanibe, who were granted bail.

Further court proceedings are expected to clarify the next steps in Nsibande’s case.
