EFF Opens Fraud Case Against MabuyaneThe Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the Eastern Cape has opened a fraud case against Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane over allegations related to his Master’s degree studies at University of Fort Hare.
EFF Eastern Cape Chairperson Zilindile Vena said the case was opened at a police station in East London on Thursday.
Vena said the party believes there is sufficient reason for law enforcement authorities to investigate the allegations.
The development comes shortly after Mabuyane’s court bid to obtain an interdict against EFF leader Julius Malema over comments relating to the matter was dismissed.
The EFF says it wants the allegations to be fully investigated. Mabuyane has previously denied any wrongdoing.
The matter is expected to be investigated by the relevant authorities.
