EASTERN CAPE – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) intensified its voter registration campaign across the Eastern Cape during the final voter registration weekend ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.
Party commissioners, mayoral candidates and members visited voting stations across the province. They monitored the registration process, engaged election officials and encouraged residents to register or verify their voting details.
Buffalo City Campaign
EFF Buffalo City Metro mayoral candidate Commissioner Mkhululi Dlevu spent the first day of the registration weekend visiting several voting stations.
He visited Ward 15 at Sakhikamva High School in the kuGompo Sub-Region. He also visited Ward 03 at BCC TVET, Ward 47 at City Hall and Ward 05 at C.R. Qaba Church in the Duncan Village Sub-Region.
During the visits, Dlevu met with party ground forces and observed voter registration activities. He also encouraged eligible residents to participate in the electoral process.
Second-Day Oversight
On the second day of the registration weekend, Dlevu continued his oversight programme in Ward 46.
He visited the Old Orange Grove Hotel Voting Station, where he engaged election officials, party members and community residents. He monitored the registration process and assessed the party’s readiness for the upcoming elections
Province-Wide Mobilisation
Meanwhile, EFF commissioners and members were deployed across the Eastern Cape. They maintained a presence at voting stations and encouraged eligible voters to register before the deadline.
The party said the campaign formed part of its preparations for the 2026 Local Government Elections. It added that volunteers also assisted residents who wanted to verify or update their voter registration details.
KSD Oversight Visit
In the King Sabata Dalindyebo (KSD) Local Municipality, EFF mayoral candidate Commissioner Ncedo Kolanisi visited the Sinolwazi Voting Station in Ward 37.
During the visit, Kolanisi monitored voter registration activities and interacted with election officials and party volunteers. He also encouraged residents to register and ensure their details were up to date.
Call to Register
The EFF urged all eligible South Africans to register to vote or update their registration details before the close of the final voter registration weekend. The party said strong voter participation remains essential for the 2026 Local Government Elections.
