EASTERN CAPE – The Patriotic Alliance (PA) has stepped up its voter registration campaign across the Eastern Cape as the final voter registration weekend comes to an end ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.
Campaign Reaches Communities Across the Province
The party says its leaders, local structures and volunteers are visiting communities across the province. Campaign teams are working in Koukamma, Matatiele, Elundini, Venterstad, Middelburg, Queenstown, Butterworth, Buffalo City, Ndlambe, Senqu and Sundays River Valley.
Teams are going door to door to encourage eligible residents to register to vote. They are also engaging with communities through outreach programmes and public awareness campaigns.
According to the PA, the campaign aims to reach as many voters as possible before voter registration closes. The party says it also wants every ward and community to participate in the democratic process.
Political Parties Increase Voter Mobilisation
Meanwhile, political parties across the Eastern Cape have increased their voter mobilisation efforts. They continue to hold community meetings, door-to-door campaigns and public engagements as they prepare for the 2026 Local Government Elections.
The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) has urged eligible South Africans who have not yet registered, or who need to update their registration details, to do so before the registration period closes.
