Ramaphosa extends Madlanga Commission deadline
President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended the deadline for the final report of the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry into criminality, political interference and corruption in the criminal justice system.
The commission will now submit its final report on 16 November, instead of 31 August.
The extension also gives the commission until 2 October to hear more evidence and complete its investigations.
The Presidency says the extra time will allow the commission to deal with all matters in its terms of reference and avoid leaving parts of its work unfinished.
President Ramaphosa has thanked the commission for its work and praised law enforcement agencies for following up on testimony presented before the inquiry.
