Social grant beneficiaries who are still using SASSA Gold Cards have been urged to switch to Postbank Black Cards before the deadline.
Postbank has warned that the opportunity to migrate is quickly running out.
The deadline has been set for 31 August 2026.
SASSA Gold Cards are being phased out. They will no longer work after the migration process.
As a result, beneficiaries who fail to switch on time could experience disruptions when accessing their social grant payments.
Beneficiaries urged not to delay
Beneficiaries are being encouraged to replace their cards as soon as possible.
They have been warned not to wait until the August payment dates. They should also avoid waiting until the final days of the migration period.
This is because longer queues are expected at card replacement sites.
Postbank says queues are already increasing at several sites.
The situation is expected to become more challenging in August. This will be the final month before the deadline.
Postbank Chief Commercial Officer Thamsanqa Cele said beneficiaries who delay their card replacement could face substantial waiting times.
Where can the new cards be collected?
Postbank Black Cards can be collected from selected retailers.

Usave
Pick n Pay
Boxer
Spar
Card replacement sites are open nationwide from Monday to Friday, between 09:00 and 17:00.
In addition, beneficiaries can dial 120355# from their mobile phones to locate their nearest card replacement site.

Meanwhile, beneficiaries have been advised not to visit SASSA offices unnecessarily for enquiries related to SASSA Gold Cards or Postbank Black Cards.
Instead, assistance can be obtained at nearby Postbank sites.
Beneficiaries can also contact the Postbank call centre.
Support is available for several card-related problems.
These include missing payments, PIN queries, lost or stolen cards, card reissues and declined transactions.
