
South Africa Loses 120,000 Jobs in One Year
South Africa lost 120,000 jobs between March 2025 and March 2026, according to the latest Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) survey released on Tuesday.
The survey shows employment dropped by 1.1%, with job losses recorded in several sectors of the economy.
Full-time jobs decreased by 48,000, while part-time jobs fell by 73,000.
Stats SA also said gross earnings declined between December 2025 and March 2026.
