
East London — Police have recovered a vehicle that was allegedly reported stolen during an operation in California, KuGompo.
The operation involved members of the Eastern Cape Missing Person and Trafficking Unit and the East London Vehicle Theft Unit.
According to police, the vehicle was recovered from a Burundi national. It is alleged that the vehicle had been stolen from its owner in Harare, Cape Town.
Police say the recovery is part of ongoing efforts to combat vehicle theft, vehicle trafficking and organised crime in the Eastern Cape.
Further arrests are expected as investigations continue.
Authorities have urged communities to work with law-enforcement agencies to help disrupt criminal networks and protect residents.
