MDANTSANE, Eastern Cape – The United Democratic Movement (UDM) stepped up its local government election campaign on Saturday. Party leaders visited several Buffalo City communities to engage residents and discuss local issues.
Leaders Visit Several Communities
The campaign covered Ward 12 and Ward 14 in Mdantsane. It also reached Ward 25 in Phakamisa, Ward 34 in Dimbaza and Ward 36 in Pirie Mission.
During the visits, UDM leaders met residents and listened to their concerns. Meanwhile, they encouraged communities to participate in the upcoming local government elections.
Senior Leaders Join the Campaign
The Secretary-General, National Fundraiser, Buffalo City Regional Executive Committee (REC), RETT and Buffalo City District leaders led the programme.
In addition, volunteers and activists supported the campaign throughout the day. Their teamwork helped the party reach more communities.
Focus on Grassroots Engagement
The UDM said the outreach formed part of its grassroots election campaign. The party aims to strengthen its relationship with communities before the elections.
Furthermore, leaders encouraged residents to raise local challenges and take part in shaping the future of their municipalities.
Election Campaigns Gain Momentum
Political parties continue to increase their activities across the Eastern Cape. As a result, voters can expect more community visits and public meetings in the coming weeks.
