The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has denied that warrants of arrest were issued against Jacinta MaNgobese Zuma and Xolani Zuma, following claims by the March and March Movement.
In a media statement dated 15 October 2026, the NPA said it was responding to a statement from the movement that suggested warrants had been issued against the two. The NPA “categorically” denied this.
The authority also said it does not take instructions from political parties, holders of public office or anyone else regarding its prosecutorial function.
It said its decisions are independent and impartial, guided only by the Constitution, legislation and evidence.
The NPA said that as a general principle, it does not comment on matters such as possible arrests and investigations before the law enforcement process is complete.
Once a matter is enrolled in court, it said, the charges and reasons for prosecution become known through the normal judicial process.
The authority encouraged people and organisations to stop making unfounded allegations or comments that may misrepresent and undermine the criminal justice process.
It added that it remains dedicated to carrying out its functions without fear, favour or prejudice.
